You bought one for a wedding, a formal, or one backless dress you had already fallen for. It worked. Now you are back, and almost everything written about stick-on bras is written for the person who has never used one.
This is the other conversation: what to upgrade, what to add instead of another bra, and what we would do differently the second time.
The second time is a different question
The first purchase is a gamble. You are trusting a piece of adhesive to hold through a night you have spent months planning, and most of the questions we are asked are about whether it works at all.
Once you have worn one, that question is settled. What replaces it is narrower and more useful: not whether this works, but which one, for the dress hanging up right now.
In our experience the second order arrives with that dress already decided. We see it in our own orders too, where plenty of people buy once for one occasion and do not need us again for 12 months. So the second time is rarely a repeat of the first.
Is it worth upgrading from a cheap stick-on bra?
Usually yes, and we would rather say why than simply say yes.
Most of our customers have been let down by a cheaper version first. It comes up again and again: people are not comparing us against nothing, they are comparing us against a bad experience they already paid for. The fear is not that something will be uncomfortable. It is that it will let go in front of people.
We noticed the same thing across 300+ reviews on our store. The compliment we get most often is staying power, described as dancing all night or sitting through a long ceremony without adjusting anything. That is the difference you are paying for, and in this category it is the only difference worth paying for.
The adhesive is what separates the two. Ours is medical grade, hypoallergenic and latex free. For sensitive skin please test first and discontinue use if irritation occurs, and do not apply over irritated or sunburnt skin. That holds for any adhesive product, at any price.
Which one now, if you already own one
The answer depends less on your body than on what you are wearing this time. Here is how we would think it through.
| What has changed since last time | Where we would look | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Same brief, you just want it to feel better on | The Nudi Bra | Our number one seller: an ultra light self-adhesive bra with a fabric outer cover, in cup sizes A to D. The bra you wear when you would rather go without. |
| You want cleavage more than lift | The Lace Up Bra | A strapless, cleavage-enhancing lace-up style, for when a flat cup is not doing enough. |
| The back is lower, or the plunge deeper, than a cup will sit in | Clear boob tape | SW044 is ultra thin and sheer, and it goes where a moulded cup cannot. Stated wear time is 8 to 12 hours. |
| You do not need lift at all, only coverage | Nipple covers | Nothing to fit, nothing to position, and no lift you did not ask for. |
| The dress holds itself up and you only need it to stay | Fashion tape or body glue | The problem is the neckline, not the support. Taping the dress solves it directly. |
One thing we would push back on: ordering the same product a size down because the last one felt loose. Our sizing runs smaller than people expect, so sizing down again is rarely the fix. If you are between cup sizes, go for the larger one.
The question we are asked most about inserts is whether to choose Chicken Fillets or Bosom Buddies. Both are clear, high grade silicone, but they do different jobs. Chicken Fillets are shaped to sit under and to the side of the breast along the underwire line, and they are the one to choose for a real increase in size, with some customers going up two cup sizes. Bosom Buddies are about lift and fullness rather than size: extra cleavage for a smaller bust, or lift for a larger one, while keeping the shape you already like. There is no single right answer, because it depends on the dress and what you want it to do, so if you are torn between the two, or between an insert and a stick-on cup, ask us before you order.
You can see the current line-up together in stick-on and invisible bras, including the backless skin bra for the lowest backs.
What to add, rather than what to start with
If you already own the bra, the second order is usually not another bra. It is the thing that would have made the first night easier.
Our range runs to 42 products, grouped into five, and the groups are the quickest way through it:
- Cleavage - bra inserts and boob tape, for lift and shape
- Bra Accessories - the pieces that make a bra you already own work with the outfit: bra extenders, the Low Back Bra Extender, bra clips and clear straps
- Fashion Essentials - fashion tape, nipple covers and body glue
- Shapewear - seamless underwear and body shapers, for a smooth line under the dress
-
Twinkle Toes - heel protectors, gel foot cushions and foldable ballet flats
Bra Bits is the group we would send a returning customer to first. A low-back converter turns a bra you already like into a backless one, and clear straps do the same job for a halter neck. Both are smaller decisions than buying a second bra, and they work with what is already in your drawer.
Twinkle Toes is the range people do not associate with us at all, and it is a full range rather than an afterthought. If the last event finished with you barefoot on the grass, holding your heels, that is the gap to close. It is not your bra.
Making the one you own last
Two honest limits, both of which come from what customers tell us rather than from what we would prefer to be true.
Adhesive products last fewer wears than most buyers assume. One customer asked us outright whether she was doing something wrong. She was not. Reusable does not mean unlimited, and how many wears you get varies by product and by how it is stored.
If a stick-on bra has lost its tack, it is often recoverable rather than finished. We have written the method up separately in how to make a sticky bra sticky again.
Two habits carry most of the difference. Store it stuck back to its own liner, in its packaging, away from lint and heat. And put it on skin that is clean, dry and free of oil or moisturiser, every time, not only the first time.
If you only add one thing
Make it the piece that fixes an outfit you already own, rather than another bra. A low-back converter, a roll of fashion tape or a set of clear straps covers more outfits than a second cup will, and our free domestic shipping starts at $50, which is roughly where a bra plus one of them lands.
And if you are weighing up two options for one specific dress, ask before you order. Exchanges run within 7 days of receipt, unused and sealed in the original packaging, and opened intimate apparel cannot come back for a change of mind, so the question is genuinely better answered first.
